The Usual
Brats, hot dogs and burgers
The most common place for our mustard is on a hamburger, a bratwurst or a hot dog, and we make three flavors so there's one for however you like your brat.
If you want heat, use Hot & Spicy. If you like it sweet, use Original Sweet & Spicy. If you want a little bite without much heat, use Horseradish. Or put all three out next to the grill and let everybody pick.
Which Jar for Which Brat
Our suggestions
Hot & Spicy
$9.00 for a 9oz jar
A plain brat straight off the grill. Hot and sweet, with about the heat of a jalapeño or cayenne pepper, so the brat gets a kick.
Original Sweet & Spicy
$9.00 for a 9oz jar
Brats with sauerkraut. Creamy and sweet, and the sweet sits well next to tangy kraut. This is the 1935 family recipe.
Horseradish
$9.00 for a 9oz jar
A brat with onions, or a smoked sausage. A sweet base with a mild to medium bite that won't wipe out your sinuses. Our best seller.
The Rest of the Cookout
Where else the jars end up
The same three jars go on the burgers and the hot dogs. If the smoker is going too, our smoked pulled pork uses a whole jar of Original Sweet & Spicy as the binder.
For the sides, try our mustard in place of mayonnaise in potato salad, or stir it into deviled eggs. And brats and pretzels go together, so here is which jar to dip a pretzel in.
Common Questions
About mustard and brats
What kind of mustard is best on brats?
Any of our three works on a brat. Hot & Spicy if you want heat, Original Sweet & Spicy if you like it sweet, and Horseradish if you want a little bite without much heat.
What mustard goes with brats and sauerkraut?
I'd reach for Original Sweet & Spicy. The sweet sits well next to tangy kraut. Horseradish works too if you want a little more bite.
Is your mustard good on hot dogs and burgers?
Yes. Hamburgers, bratwursts and hot dogs are the usual, and all three flavors work on each of them.
Where can I buy your mustard around St. Louis?
