What you need

  • Tuna, eggs or chicken, and whatever else goes in your usual salad
  • Grandpa Spencer's mustard in place of the mayonnaise: Original Sweet & Spicy, Hot & Spicy or Horseradish
  • Bread for the sandwich

How to make it

  1. Make your tuna salad, egg salad or chicken salad the way you usually do, but use Grandpa Spencer's mustard instead of mayonnaise.
  2. Any one of our three flavors will give the sandwich great flavor, so use the one you like.
  3. Spread it on your bread and make the sandwich.

The same swap works in potato salad and deviled eggs.

What you need

  • Pumpernickel bread, roast beef, Swiss cheese and Grandpa Spencer's Horseradish Mustard
  • Rye bread, ham, sharp cheddar cheese and Grandpa Spencer's Original Sweet & Spicy Mustard
  • Sourdough bread, sliced turkey, sliced havarti cheese and any of Grandpa Spencer's three mustards
  • Fancy toothpicks

How to make it

  1. Make the pumpernickel sandwiches with roast beef, Horseradish Mustard and Swiss cheese.
  2. Make the rye sandwiches with ham, sharp cheddar cheese and Original Sweet & Spicy.
  3. Make the sourdough sandwiches with sliced turkey, sliced havarti and any of our mustard flavors to spice it up.
  4. Cut the sandwiches into triangles.
  5. Stick a fancy toothpick in each one and serve them on a platter or tray.

About mustard on sandwiches

Can you use mustard instead of mayo?

Yes. In a tuna, egg or chicken salad sandwich, use one of our mustards where you'd use mayonnaise. Any of our three flavors works, and it works in potato salad too.

What mustard is best on a ham sandwich?

Original Sweet & Spicy. Ham, sharp cheddar and Original on rye bread is one of our finger sandwiches, and it's just as good full size.

What mustard goes with roast beef?

Horseradish. Roast beef, Swiss cheese and Horseradish Mustard on pumpernickel is a favorite of ours.

What finger sandwiches can I make with mustard?
